Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic, is also a popular public speech writer. Feminist Frequency was founded by Sarkeesian. It hosts video clips featuring commentary and analysis of gender representations in the media and popular culture of today. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning Canadian-American feminist media critic and blogger. Feminist Frequency explores how women are depicted in pop culture. Aiming to break down the stereotypes that are associated with females in popular culture, she works to highlight issues related to harassment targeted at women and other marginalized classes of the Internet space. Sarkeesian holds a York University master's in social philosophy, political and philosophical thinking. In addition to being a well-known public speaker, she has given speeches at the TEDxWomen XOXO XOXO Conference and United Nations Broadband Working Group. Feminist Frequency was launched in 2009 by Sarkeesian. a University student who has been involved in topics concerning gender and feminism since a considerable period of period of. She had a plan to launch an internet program that would examine the gender roles in games however, she was also the subject of an online harassment campaign. She was not deterred by the harassment, in fact it only reinforced her desire to become feminist and media critic. She has won several awards for her contributions to the cause of feminism. Anita Sarkeesian, a media critic, has been awarded numerous awards and created Feminist Frequency as an educational nonprofit that studies the ways women are depicted within media narratives.
